It's PAAAAARTY time

Well, surprise of the week. We bumped into Javier Mariscal the other night, had a nice chat and he invited us to his studio party. Seems like a very nice guy, undeniably creative and very charming. It'll be great to see his studio. I love seeing where other people work. I'm sure it'll be a treasure trove of design history. If it doesn't seem too intrusive, I'll take some pictures. If not I'll upload some pics of his recent work. I'm sure it'll surprise a lot people who really only know him from his classic work like Cobi.

He has just released a new book, which looks worth checking out. This is from his own website...
On 5th of October, Phaidon publishing house will launch the book Mariscal Drawing Life, a monographic work which, through 400 images, 300 pages and an introductory text by Javier Mariscal, shows his professional career and that of Estudio Mariscal. The book has served the designer and his studio to disorganise their own work and place it in “crisis” to review it and revise it and find a new order in it. It is the same method that is applied to all of their jobs which, in reality, are never filed away as completed.
